TSA Photographic Technology: Macrophotography

“It’s the little details that are vital.  Little things make big things happen.” -John Wooden

The term ‘macro’, with just five simple letters, encompasses an infinite amount of inspiration, ingenuity and creativity. I’ve discovered that just by zooming in, I can uncover incredible perspectives typically unnoticed in our daily lives. Vegetables become intriguing forests, watches reveal their cityscapes of complications, and diminutive typewriter keys transform into metal hunks. It’s a journey into a whole new world.

In this portfolio, I included images of everyday objects: grapefruit, currency, flower, coffee beans, stamps, among other ordinary things found around the house. These objects were shot at a minuscule-level to capture the raw beauty unseen before. I also combined some with figurines to create artistic, fantastical scenes. My objective is to capture the subtle allure and artistry of simple objects in unexpected compositions.  Each final photo was the result of extensive experimentation with different angles and lightings. Finally, all images were taken using a combination of an optic magnifier and a macro lens.
